Pruning Workshop

Picture
The colder months are the time for pruning apple and pear trees to promote good growth and fruiting in the next season. Trees that aren’t pruned become less productive and congested with old branches.

Join us and local expert Tim Foster, as he demonstrates how to prune fruit trees for best maintenance, and explains the principles of pruning.

Learn to Scythe

Picture
Around the orchard we use Austrian style scythes to manage the undergrowth around the trees, as well as some of the grassy areas around the site. Join us at our Volunteer Day on Saturday 12th November to learn this ancient but still efficient agricultural technique.
